The senior consultant role will include designing and providing facade access solutions in compliance with international standards and industry best practices and ensuring high-quality output within the facade access team. Supporting other Specialist disciplines, the facade access Engineer must keep up to date with advancements in technical aspects of facade access.

Your new role, what's involved

1. Provide technical design input to facade access projects.
2. Consider the facade access from a holistic whole-building approach, rather than an equipment-based approach, ensuring safe, dedicated access is available to all facades.
3. Liaise with the Facade Engineering team in particular but also other technical and commercial disciplines during the delivery of a project and ongoing management of the team. Develop the reglazing strategy in conjunction with the Facade Engineering team.
4. Produce reports at the end of various design phases.
5. Provide support and guidance to the Technical Working Group (TWG) where appropriate.
6. Keep up to date with industry developments with respect to your discipline and understand and appreciate the basic technical principles and drivers of other disciplines.
7. Must be capable of producing and reviewing calculations in relation to facade access equipment.
8. Responsible for executing CAD and BIM design tasks as required.
9. Responsible for drafting AutoCAD drawings, maintaining quality and accuracy.
10. Research new facade access systems and techniques, and stay abreast of developments in your relevant technical field.
11. Bring a technical understanding of the relevant codes and standards, including CDM guidelines and EN standards.
12. Carry out engineering load calculations to the relevant standards, considering dynamic loading to the building. Bring relevant and varied experience to the position, and have specific experience in facade access systems.
13. Very good experience of facade access front-end design.
14. Carry out factory and site inspections to assess the quality and conformance of equipment provided by the BMU contractor.
15. Utilize Microsoft Teams and other means of communication to coordinate with colleagues out of the office or abroad.
16. Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to your line manager.
17. Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.
18. Review the work of colleagues and peers for Quality Control and provide constructive feedback.
19. Attend team and project meetings as required.
20. Contribute to the delivery of the business unit strategy.
21. Support the company's approach to sustainability.
22. Identify improvements (where possible) to enhance WSP ME's service to clients.
23. Lead by example and ensure QMS compliance.
24. Complete accurate timesheets by the set deadline.
25. Feedback on all business development opportunities.
