The Carbon Advisory Team sits across multiple sectors. The successful candidate will support clients in achieving their aims to reduce their carbon impact. This opportunity would be ideal for individuals with an engineering or environmental bias, who are keen to learn and apply themselves in a dynamic and fast-paced consulting environment. The Role
Our Carbon Advisory Consultants support clients by providing proven and agile decarbonization solutions to ensure targets are met. Our consultants will develop a systematic framework for the management of decarbonization including defining overarching strategies, plans & detailed roadmaps with key milestones, journey enablers, timeframes, drivers and identifying on-route threats, risks, and uncertainties.
In addition, as a Consultant, you will support clients in completing baselining and lifecycle assessments, supporting with the creation of Decarbonization roadmaps, providing guidance on International & Regional Policies and assessing climate-related physical risks.
To aid in your development, we have a library of training material for carbon advisory services and a companywide Energy Transition academy where you can learn about the existing and emerging energy technologies and processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performing comprehensive Scope 1, 2 & 3 greenhouse gas emissions inventories and baselines for equipment, units, facilities, and companies, including assisting clients to map energy and fuel usage.
- Performing life cycle assessments and modelling, including data processing, interpretation, and analysis.
- Development and updating methodologies and tools for quantifying greenhouse gas emissions.
- Using Circular Carbon Economy principles to develop a multi-factor approach to meet wider sustainable development objectives.
- Supporting colleagues to identify and screen carbon reduction opportunities - feedstock, fuels, power sources, process & applicable technologies.
- Work with the other ET Hub segments to provide integrated solutions- CCS, hydrogen, and renewables.
- Preparation of technical study reports / presentations and associated deliverables.
- Supporting the preparation of technical / commercial proposals.

QUALIFICATIONSExpected:- University Degree in Process Engineering, Engineering Science, or technical Environmental/ Sustainable Development-related subject.
- Proven Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Analytical skills and can systematically break a complex task into more manageable parts and identify the critical components of a problem.
- Awareness of the business environment, sector markets and ongoing innovation in technology and research in climate-related subjects and issues. Knowledge and experience in the Middle East is preferred.
- Excellent communications skills both verbally and written high-quality report writing and presentation skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Keen to learn and to share learning with others.
- Good at working in teams with a flexible approach to work methods.
Desirable:- Some work experience exposure to energy sector or extractive industries.
- Experience in life cycle assessment.
- Post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Member or Associate Member of an internationally recognized Professional body.
- Experience of compiling, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets.
- Experience in presenting and formulating attention-grabbing reports and presentation material.
