Job Summary/Role Description

The purpose of the Buyer is to significantly contribute to the delivery of the purchasing strategy. The successful candidate will ensure the supply chain is managed in a pro-active, robust and outcome-led way. You will be required strong motivation, communication, and negotiation skills to perform in a dynamic and demanding work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Float of inquiries.
2. Economical and contractual negotiations.
3. Issue of Economical Evaluation to Project Teams.
4. Cooperate with Project Teams in highlighting main reasons of eventual extra budgets and proposing mitigation actions.
5. Issue of Purchase Orders and following Amendments.
6. Expediting of Purchase Order acceptance by Vendors.
7. To support Project Procurement.
8. Ensure proper use of the procurement procedures and follow up administration.
9. Effectively manage budget of purchasing process to maintain best price.
10. Lead the projects to make them happen, problem-solving, trouble shooting, risk assessments, offering up solutions, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget and to required quality levels.
11. Ensuring appropriate quality assurance is maintained.
12. Maintain standards, policies, documentation, systems and procedures to ensure the continued development of the supply function.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

University Degree in any Engineering course.

Experience Essential:

1. Experience as buyer - Oil & Gas, purchasing/procurement process.
2. Best in industrial context.
3. Direct experience of managing UAE Suppliers and international (if needed).
4. Demonstrate a sound understanding of figures and be commercially aware.
5. Knowledge of Export/Import processes and documentation and all modes of transport.
6. Minimum 10 years' experience in the specific discipline.
7. Similar role covered in last three projects of comparable size.
8. Experience working as main contractor (EPC).
