Construction Manager - Marine

Job Responsibilities

1. Oversee and execute marine construction activities, including marine structures, sheet piling, shoring, and ground improvement tasks such as vibro-compaction, dewatering, and dredging.
2. Lead construction and installation of quay walls, jetties, tubular piles, concrete pontoons, breakwaters, and related infrastructure.
3. Design and manage dewatering systems, including deep well, well point, French drain, sump pumping, and beach stabilization techniques.
4. Direct all operational phases, from project initiation to closure, including procurement, mobilization, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and demobilization.
5. Lead contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors, resolve disputes, and oversee vendor payments and project performance.
6. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory authorities like Nakheel, DM, and Trakhees.
7. Manage a team of site engineers, supervisors, and foremen, conducting weekly meetings to ensure project progress and safety standards.
8. Develop and monitor project schedules and budgets for marine construction activities, including dewatering, compaction, piling, and dredging.
9. Ensure adherence to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) regulations.
10. Coordinate mobilization and maintenance of specialized marine equipment such as dredgers, barges, cranes, and associated teams.
11. Provide technical guidance and resolve complex construction challenges, enhancing team knowledge and capabilities.
12. Maintain accurate documentation of project activities, including daily reports, timesheets, incident logs, and equipment maintenance records.
13. Collaborate with procurement teams to streamline material acquisition and liaise with suppliers for timely deliveries.
14. Support the accounts team in processing payments and managing weekly budgets for materials.
15. Contribute to design planning and offer expertise for marine-related activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

1. Proven experience as a Construction Manager in marine construction projects, especially in the UAE or similar regions.
2. Strong leadership and team management skills to oversee a diverse workforce.
3. Expertise in marine construction techniques such as vibro-compaction, piling, and dredging.
4. Comprehensive understanding of local building codes, regulations, and best practices, particularly in Dubai.
5. Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, budgeting, and scheduling.
6. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields (professional certifications in project management are a plus).
7. Certified by Dubai Municipality in Ports & Marine Construction Contracting.
