WSP Middle East are hiring for a Construction Director - Data Center to join our Data Center team in UAE.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing large-scale construction projects, particularly in the data center sector, and will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.

Your new role, what's involved

As a senior team member, you will bring both professional expertise and intrinsic motivation. You possess the skills necessary to lead meetings, facilitate discussions that promote broader commercial insights, and oversee tasks assigned to your project team. You are dedicated to performing your duties with diligence, adhering to the quality standards established by the company, and complying with its policies and business systems. Additionally, you are committed to the ongoing implementation and improvement of these standards.

1. Leads day-to-day project operations and team activities, overseeing management, monitoring, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
2. Communicates effectively in both verbal and written formats; guides and manages the progression of project development; and demonstrates strong decision-making skills when taking direction from clients and providing guidance to the project team.
3. Serves as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and consultants at the project level.
4. Develops and manages project execution plans, making revisions as needed to adapt to changing requirements.
5. Reviews team deliverables for completeness and accuracy before issuance, implementing quality assurance procedures.
6. Coordinates the efforts of support staff, including assistant project managers, analysts, and administrative personnel as necessary.
7. Manages the daily operational aspects of projects, including tracking team hours and updating project revenue forecasts.
8. Collects and analyzes key project data weekly to prepare regular reports, progress updates, and adjustments to the project budget and schedule.
9. Attends project meetings, producing agendas and meeting minutes as needed.
10. Oversees the review and processing of invoices from consultants and vendors, as well as contractor requisitions.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

1. Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Project Management, or Construction Management.
2. 15+ years of progressive responsibility in the development of complex capital projects.
3. Minimum of five years of this experience spent on Data Center /Clean Room projects.
4. Prior experience in datacenter construction.
5. Experience managing multiple large multi-faceted projects.
6. Ability to lead a team and report to our client's Senior Management.
7. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
8. Excellent client relationship skills.
9. Ability to influence cross-discipline teams.
10. Construction health & safety knowledge.
