Computer Numerical Control Programmer

For the CNC Programmer & Operator role, the employee will set up and operate manual and numerically controlled machines in a repair center. Collaborate with engineering and other team members to optimize manufacturing processes and improve efficiency and ensure that all safety protocols are followed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To execute machining operations, for components repair purpose as well as manufacturing of special tools/fixtures, the CNC programmer & Operator shall be able to:

1. Interpret technical drawings, and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
2. Set up the CNC machine according to work instructions, securing holding fixtures, loading the parts/base materials, and installing cutting tools.
3. Operate CNC controls to execute programmed machining sequences and monitor machine performance.
4. Collaborate with the engineering department to ensure the manufacturability and quality of machined parts.
5. Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software based on engineering drawings and specifications.
6. Select appropriate parameters, in terms of cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for each machining operation.
7. Document and maintain CNC programs, tooling setups, and process parameters.
8. Monitor cutting tools wear and adjust machining parameters to maintain quality and productivity.
9. Conduct in-process inspections to verify the dimensional accuracy of machined parts.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Training

Bachelor graduation in mechanical engineering preferable

Skills/Experience

1. Minimum Experience of 5 years in a similar position
2. Troubleshooting and debugging CNC programs to optimize machining processes and minimize cycle times.
3. Performing routine maintenance on machining equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn components to ensure machine reliability.
4. Reporting any issues with the machines promptly to maintenance staff for repairs.
