About the Opportunity

The Compliance Manager role offers a unique and exciting opportunity to shape the future of regulatory adherence in the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency industry. In this position, you will lead compliance initiatives by developing and implementing frameworks that align with both local and international regulations, ensuring the company operates within legal boundaries while fostering innovation. You will also have the chance to influence industry standards through collaboration with regulatory bodies and industry groups.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and interpret relevant regulations and guidelines in the cryptocurrency sector, ensuring that the company adheres to all applicable laws and standards.
  • Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and assurance reviews to identify potential compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management, ensuring timely and accurate documentation of compliance activities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including legal, finance, and operations, to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance and risk management.
  • Incident Management: Investigate compliance incidents or breaches, manage the response process, and implement corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
  • Monitoring and Enforcement: Establish monitoring mechanisms to ensure ongoing compliance with policies and regulations, and assist Head of Compliance to take necessary enforcement actions.
  • Training and Education: Provide training and resources to employees on compliance matters, fostering a culture of awareness and ethical behavior.

What We Look For In You

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, law, business administration, or a related field; a master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CAMS, CCEP) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in compliance management, preferably within the cryptocurrency, fintech, or financial services industries.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, including AML, KYC, and data protection laws.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with blockchain technology and its regulatory implications.
  • Familiarity with international compliance standards and practices.
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws and cybersecurity regulations.
  • Previous experience in developing compliance technologies or tools.
  • Proficiency in additional languages, which can be beneficial in a global regulatory context.
