Communication and PR Specialist

Responsible for supporting the execution of the Museum of the Future communications and public relations strategies by assisting in briefing preparation, Arabic content creation and editing, media relations, and stakeholder communications. This role contributes to enhancing the Museum of The Future public image and ensures consistent communication across various channels.

Your role within the department

The Communications & Public Relations Specialist role will work closely with the Content & Production team to ensure all written materials align with brand messaging. It collaborates with the Digital Marketing team to integrate PR strategies into online campaigns. Additionally, the role interacts with the Events and Programming teams to ensure clear communication and promotion for exhibitions and events.

Your typical working week would typically cover the following:

  1. Lead the development and editing of Arabic content such as press releases, newsletters, and other communication materials to ensure they are engaging, accurate, and consistent with the MOTF's brand identity.
  2. Create and adapt communication materials for management and other departments specifically in Arabic, ensuring alignment with organizational messages and cultural nuances.
  3. Lead public relations campaigns, from concept through to execution, monitoring their effectiveness and making strategic adjustments as needed.
  4. Analyze and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies and PR campaigns, providing insights for continuous improvement.
  5. Prepare and distribute press releases and manage the museum's reputation based on media reports.
  6. Help in drafting outlines and preparing briefing documents for content production.
  7. Assist in reviewing content created including press releases, newsletters, and other communication materials, ensuring content is engaging, accurate, and consistent with the MOTF's brand identity.
  8. Assist in managing relationships with media outlets, including coordinating filming, managing media outlet visits, handling inquiries, and arranging press conferences.

Are you the right fit for the role?

  1. You need to have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject or equivalent e.g. communications, marketing.
  2. Minimum of 3 years in writing, editing, and production of newsletters, press releases, and marketing materials.
  3. You will have excellent communication skills in Arabic & English and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  4. You can demonstrate an ability to contribute effectively to PR and communications strategies in a recognized Organization.
  5. You have a strong interest in staying informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and the latest best practices in communications and marketing.
