WHAT WILL YOU DO
Your main duties and responsibilities are:
- Prepare and cook dishes delegated as your responsibility by the Chef in charge.
- Take tasks and requests from the Chef in charge and carry them out in a correct manner.
- Ensure that the specification of portion size and quantity of a particular dish has been followed, as set out in the recipe index.
- Complete the daily checklist received by the Chef in charge regarding mise-en-place and food storage.
- Report any failure of kitchen equipment, and follow up to ensure the necessary maintenance work has been carried out.
- Keep section clean and tidy at all times, and make sure all items are labelled with dates.
- Help to prevent waste of food and over-production to mise-en-place, and keep food order from store or supplies to a minimum.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The successful candidate will have the following experience and skills:
- Minimum 1 year experience in the same or similar role in luxury hotels or fine dining restaurants.
- Good level of English.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with a high degree of flexibility.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Ability to work long shifts and stand for an extended period of time.
