Reports to: Director / Project Director / Senior Commercial Manager

Job Description:

• The Commercial Manager (CM) shall assist with the implementation and audit of the policy and procedures related to Contract and Commercial Management as directed by Mirage Management for Post Contract/Supervision Projects.
• To the extent delegated by Mirage Management, the Commercial Manager shall manage the day-to-day operation of Commercial and Contract Management to ensure the highest possible work ethic in accordance with established procedures through the life cycle of the project.
• The CM shall be responsible for commercial management and reporting on the portfolio of Supervision Projects against established KPIs.
• The CM will undertake all activities in line with the core values of Mirage, ensuring the team focuses on the following:
• Integrity in all transactions and contract placement.
• High standard of support to stakeholders (internal & external).
• Ensure delivery of KPI and contract commitments.
• Commitment to the success of the programme.
• Encourage team effort and individual productivity.
• In addition to developing experience related knowledge and problem-solving techniques, the CM will work closely with Mirage Management to develop effective management, organisation and communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Tertiary qualification (University Graduate) in Quantity Surveying or similar plus a minimum of 7-10 years relevant experience in a commercial management role.

• Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Building Management, Engineering, Architecture with extensive experiential learning in the construction industry (6-8 years plus).
• Experience in similar commercial management role in post contract Projects; experience in post contract claims and contracts management is preferred.
• Demonstrate increased responsibility over career duration.
• UAE experience preferred.
• Relevant projects of an appropriate scale.
• Active membership of a relevant professional institution such as RICS is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

General:

• Keep abreast of business and technical developments in the construction industry as a basis for assisting with the evolution of the business, to safeguard the Company's success and business viability against competition.
• Monitor market conditions and changes in the business environment to personally develop and assist Mirage in making recommendations about changes or adaptations to development plans.
• Participate in the identification of commercial risks, remedial actions, claims and variation orders issues for further action.
• With the finance/accounts department, participate in the development and implementation of cost control systems and financial reporting that can be correlated to the project budget, revenue and costs.
• Administer the implementation of internal project administration procedures for commercial, procurement and financial integration.
• Implement established commercial procedures whilst ensuring the best solution is advocated for Mirage, the Client and project.
• Other commercial management duties as assigned by Management.

Post Contract / Supervision:

• Commercially manage, with technical review from the Resident Engineers, the performance and compliance of the Consultants according to the Scope of Services and their contractual obligations. Review staff deployment and efficiency across Projects.
• Administer Mirage Contracts and Changes and ensure compliance with procedures and policies.
• Prepare Portfolio level report across Projects to assess performance against established KPIs.
• Address Contractual matters including claims with Clients as necessary.
• Assist the Supervision team to acquaint themselves with the contract documents for Consultants and Contractors.
