COMMERCIAL MANAGER

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring compliance with company policies and UAE regulations.
2. Oversee cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and financial management to maintain project profitability.
3. Lead contract administration, including negotiation, execution, and compliance with contractual obligations.
4. Handle procurement strategies, subcontractor agreements, and vendor negotiations.
5. Assess and mitigate commercial risks, ensuring financial and legal protection for the company.
6. Review and manage claims, variations, and dispute resolution processes.
7. Ensure timely billing, invoicing, and cash flow management to optimize project revenue.
8. Work closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure smooth commercial operations.
9. Prepare and present regular financial and commercial reports to senior management.
10. Stay updated on UAE construction laws, FIDIC contracts, and industry best practices.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelors Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or certification in Contract Management or Cost Control is a plus.
3. 10+ years of experience in commercial management within the GCC construction industry ideally in the UAE.
4. Proven experience working in contracting companies on large-scale projects.
5. Strong background in cost control, contract administration, claims management, and procurement.
6. Experience with FIDIC contracts and UAE/GCC construction laws.
7. Expertise in pre- and post-contract management.
8. Understanding of local regulations, supplier networks, and cost benchmarks.
9. Contract Management: Expertise in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts and subcontracts.
10. Cost Control & Financial Management: Budgeting, cost forecasting, and financial reporting.
11. Claims & Dispute Resolution: Handling claims, variations, and contractual disputes.
12. Procurement & Vendor Management: Managing procurement strategies and subcontractor agreements.
13. Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating commercial risks in projects.
14. Software Proficiency: Experience using ERP systems, CostX, Primavera P6, Candy CCS, AutoCAD, or MS Office Suite.
15. Candidates who are immediately available in the UAE are preferred.
