Responsibilities

  • Commercial Strategy Development:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial strategy aligned with the company's objectives.
    • Identify market trends, analyze competition, and recommend strategic initiatives to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Chartering and Operations Management:
    • Oversee chartering activities, negotiations, and contracts to ensure optimal vessel utilization and revenue generation.
    • Collaborate closely with technical teams to streamline operations, minimize downtime, and enhance vessel efficiency.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while actively seeking opportunities to expand the client base.
    • Address client concerns, negotiate agreements, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Risk Management:
    • Evaluate market risks, fluctuations, and potential disruptions to develop risk mitigation strategies.
    • Implement measures to enhance the resilience of the commercial operations against market uncertainties.
  • Financial Performance Analysis:
    • Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights to support decision-making processes.
    • Work closely with finance teams to ensure cost-effectiveness and profitability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Maritime Studies, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  • Proven track record in a senior commercial role within the dry bulk shipping industry.
  • Strong understanding of technical aspects related to dry bulk vessel management.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to make informed decisions in a rapidly changing environment.
