We are Ninjas in Pyjamas, probably the world's most legendary esports team.
Born in 2000 with Counter-Strike in our blood, we have pioneered the esports scene since its inception. We earned our stripes by competing at the very top level across almost a dozen game titles and we never lose — we only win or learn.
Our vision is to bring gaming culture to a world without boundaries.
The role as Commercial Director:
The Commercial Director is an integral part of the further growth and international expansion of NIP. This position will provide high quality leadership and oversight on the development and delivery of NIP’s commercial strategy. The Commercial Director will ensure we develop, retain, recruit and manage highly skilled and motivated people for the Commercial Team, with the goal of positioning NIP as the best commercial esports partner in the world, whilst continuing revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Build and grow a high performing Commercial Team by providing strong mentorship, coaching and guidance.
- Be an advocate and driver of NIP culture and positively influence the team and beyond.
- Report across the management team on current development and overall status of the partnership portfolio.
Revenue and partnership management
- Outline and manage targets for the Commercial Team.
- Oversee and direct the Commercial Team to meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall profitability of the company.
- Implement means of measuring customer satisfaction to increase retention and revenue.
- Establish and maintain key customer relationships.
- Monitor and understand our partners' current and future strategic priorities.
- Identify and at times drive new sales opportunities.
Business development
- Continuously identify where improvements can be made and develop commercial strategies accordingly.
- Build bridges internally across departments, making sure NIP always develops its processes and further enhances collaboration.
- Help facilitate the creation of groundbreaking partnerships that seek to elevate the fan and gaming experience across the whole organization.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience in leading commercial or business development functions.
- Proven strategic thinking and innovative problem-solving abilities in developing and executing commercial strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams, provide mentorship and coaching, and positively influence company culture.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to identify opportunities for business improvement, develop commercial strategies, and drive new sales opportunities.
- In-depth understanding of the esports industry, including trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.
- Experience in building bridges across departments, enhancing collaboration, and improving internal processes to support business growth.
