Reports To: Pre-Litigation & Collections Head

Location: Dubai, UAE

Job Summary:

The B2B Collections Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and motivating a team of collections specialists focused on recovering outstanding payments from business clients. This role involves leading daily operations, ensuring team members meet collection targets, implementing effective collection strategies, resolving complex customer payment issues, and maintaining strong business relationships. The Team Leader will also be responsible for reporting on team performance and contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the collections department.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of collections specialists.
  2. Set clear performance expectations and monitor individual and team progress against targets.
  3. Conduct regular team meetings, provide coaching, and offer constructive feedback.
  4. Ensure the team adheres to established collection policies and legal requirements.
  5. Oversee the timely and accurate follow-up on outstanding accounts through various communication channels (phone, email, written correspondence).
  6. Negotiate payment plans and settlements with business customers within authorized limits.
  7. Escalate complex or high-value delinquent accounts to the Collections Head or relevant clients.
  8. Address and resolve customer payment disputes and inquiries promptly.
  9. Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with key business contacts.
  10. Prepare and present regular reports on team performance, collection progress, and key metrics (e.g., DSO, collection rate, aging analysis).
  11. Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of all collection activities.

Qualifications:

  1. High School or bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience (typically 2-5 years) in B2B collections, with demonstrated success in achieving collection targets.
  3. Previous experience (1-2 years) in a team lead or supervisory role is an advantage.
  4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  7. Familiarity with CRM or collections management systems is an advantage.
  8. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  9. High level of professionalism and ethical conduct.
