Job description

The Role

  • Develop and maintain marketing strategies to meet the Mvenpick Hotels objectives.
  • Produce collaterals and marketing and advertising products, regulate their distribution, and operate within the Mvenpick Hotels brand standards.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities

Planning & Organizing:

  1. Implement marketing activities to deliver business objectives for strategic segments and departments.
  2. Develop a public relations program for the hotel based on its marketing goals.
  3. Establish and manage internal processes (and use of external resources) to track cultural, social, and technological trends, travel market trends, and competitor strategies across key markets.
  4. Develop and maintain a Marketing Intelligence Platform consolidating external/internal data, research, tracking studies, and other information sources to direct sales & marketing activity as appropriate.
  5. In conjunction with the area office team, conduct and manage market research/insights process as necessary to inform development of marketing strategies.
  6. Identify areas of opportunity (places, times, segments) and creatively & proactively put forward ways to realize the opportunities.
  7. Establish and manage partnership marketing relationships with key partners and actively pursue other brand relationships with international and regional brands.
  8. Manage the nominated creative agencies and PR/communications agencies to maximize brand and hotel awareness.
  9. Assist in monitoring and controlling departmental costs on an ongoing basis to ensure performance against budget.
  10. Assist in the preparation of the hotel strategic plan goals and Marketing and Communications departmental budget.
  11. Demonstrate an interest in and an understanding of issues relevant to your department and hotel and keep your knowledge up to date including legislative information.
  12. Establish and interpret key performance indicators to manage the business consistently, taking into account financial implications of business decisions and recommendations.
  13. Develop an annual marketing plan in conjunction with the sales department which details activities to follow during the year focusing on meeting organizational objectives.
  14. Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive digital marketing strategies aligned with business objectives.
  15. Oversee the entire process of digital campaign management ensuring seamless execution and optimization across diverse platforms.
  16. Cultivate relationships with influencers, content creators, and brand ambassadors, strategizing and executing influencer campaigns for increased brand visibility.
  17. Collaborate with business units for the creation of compelling digital content consistent with brand guidelines tailored specifically for effective influencer collaborations.
  18. Manage SEO and SEM efforts, staying informed on industry trends to enhance online visibility and drive organic traffic.
  19. Utilize analytics tools to track and analyze digital performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights.
  20. Actively manage and grow the social media presence of each business unit, implementing strategies to boost followers, engagement, and overall brand awareness.
  21. Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with digital marketing strategies.
  22. Contribute to effective budget management, optimizing ROI in digital marketing initiatives including influencer collaborations.
  23. Actively manage different OTAs platforms.
  24. Manage ads on Meta, Google, & OTAs platforms.

Operations:

  1. Drive acquisition and usage of loyalty marketing programs with the support of Area and Regional colleagues.
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of competitors' major strengths and weaknesses.
  3. Develop media contacts, plans, press conferences, and other press activities. Act as the hotel's liaison with media to promote good publicity and counteract bad publicity.
  4. Adapt marketing material to meet local market needs.
  5. Develop an effective and strategic annual public relations and promotional calendar of activities for the hotel to include F&B activities, recreation, and rooms.
  6. Keep properties informed of opportunities for media coverage and assist in providing information when required.
  7. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of target media (electronic and print, local, national, and international) to encourage and maximize coverage of the property and its events.
  8. Host invited members of the media, strategic partners, and top clients at functions and events.
  9. Ghostwrite articles and features and create/edit news releases and Q&A for the Mvenpick Hotel.
  10. Create a positive hotel image in every interaction with internal and external customers.
  11. Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge in order to explain and sell services and facilities to guests.
  12. Maintain knowledge of special programs and events in the hotel to recognize and respond to guests' needs.
  13. Generate new ideas and encourage creativity from other team members.
  14. Be receptive to new ideas and respond to workplace changes in a flexible and optimistic manner.
  15. Establish sales leads from the study of magazines, newspapers, and personal contacts; coordinate sales leads with Conferencing and Sales Departments.
  16. Establish a program for sending promotional news to trade publications on a regular basis, releasing covering special events, promotions, etc.
  17. Prepare promotional press releases on personalities among guests and Heartists of the hotel and on newsworthy events in the hotel.
  18. Provide information to other departments on activities within and outside the hotel which may be useful when dealing with guests.
  19. Accept clients' and media complaints, requests, and inquiries and coordinate handling with departments concerned.
  20. Coordinate marketing activities with the Sales team.
  21. Maintain good public relations by extending personalized service to VIPs (e.g., following up on reservations for VIPs, assisting in greeting VIPs and groups upon their arrival, sending welcome letters to VIP guests).
  22. Coordinate guest lists and invitations for VIP receptions, luncheons, dinners, etc.
  23. Develop hotel gifts and giveaways.
  24. Build profile within the local marketplace through attendance at various events.
  25. Coordinate hotel photography when required.
  26. Plan and coordinate sponsorship activities.
  27. Work in harmony with all team members and executives managing public relations subjects of the hotel; Journalists, Officials, local community, Corporate Public Relations MH&R.
  28. Maintain a smooth information flow inside the hotel (i.e., to update department heads and staff about all concerning news of the hotel and the hotel chain).
  29. Update social media pages with hotel description, features, pictures, etc.
  30. Update news promotions and any other hotel-relevant information on social media pages.
  31. Organize competitions on social media pages.
  32. Prepare marketing & public relations activities on a monthly basis and review with the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  33. Invite local-based clubs and communities to join social media pages.
  34. Investigate relevant online marketing channels which are widely frequented by users and are more effective in terms of exposure; make contact with channels and source media kits.
  35. Secure value-added benefits and negotiate excellent rates with third parties.
  36. Provide correct hotel description and hotel photos for uploading onto online business directories, destination guides, and free listings where possible.

Administration:

  1. Manage all aspects of print production, receipt, and distribution.
  2. Maintain clipping files pertaining to the hotel based on daily perusal of the media, sharing copies with the General Manager, other departments, other sister hotels, and corporate public relations.
  3. Develop a database of regional and international publications and media contacts.
  4. Maintain mailing list/contact file.
  5. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date hotel photo file.
  6. Be continuously active with social and digital media.

Qualifications :

  1. Experience as Marketing & Communication Manager in a 5-star hotel, preferably in the same brand.
  2. Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Canva, Capcut, Lightroom).
  3. A keen eye for aesthetics and details.
  4. Strong background in social media and experience with the pre-opening of outlets.
  5. Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, social media management tools).
  6. Creative thinking and ability to develop innovative marketing campaigns.
  7. Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  8. Ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights.
  9. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with media and industry influencers.
