Cloud Engineer

Job Title: Cloud Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems.
2. Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
3. Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and process functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.
4. Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
5. Constantly look for better ways of solving technical problems and design solutions, not afraid of challenging the status quo.
6. Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements.
7. Identify bottlenecks in Cloud platform and infrastructure and lead knowledge growth efforts of platform configuration management and troubleshooting.
8. Lead FinOps practices and adoption across the organization.
9. Interact with different support teams and stakeholders, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on business needs.
10. Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture to set clear goals, delegate tasks, and set deadlines.

Qualifications, experience, & skills:

1. 3-5 years of proven work experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role and expert knowledge of multi-cloud Azure, AWS, etc.
2. Experience in migrating and deploying cloud-based solutions.
3. Expert experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, Chef, Puppet.
4. Expert experience in containerized deployments using Docker and container orchestration like Kubernetes.
5. Experienced with implementing high-scale cloud architectures using modern, cloud-based container platforms (PaaS/SaaS).
6. Working knowledge of deployment automation solutions (i.e. Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
7. Sound knowledge and experience on cloud infrastructure and cluster management tools like Kubernetes.
8. Experience with containers such as Docker, OpenShift and continuous integration and related tools such as Kubernetes, Hudson, Maven, Ant, Git, Sonar, etc.
9. Experience with working in Agile methodology, with specific Solution Architect (or similar) experience preferred.
10. Understanding of and experience with the five pillars of a well-architected framework.
11. Experienced in managing technical priorities and supporting mission-critical workloads.
12. Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of analysts, developers, and subject-matter experts.
13. Strong communication skills with the ability to align the organization on complex technical decisions.
14. Active coach and mentor whose goals are to grow and maximize the team's potential.
15. Ability for Senior Stakeholder Management.
16. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
17. Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Solutions Architect Associate certifications preferred.
