Cleaning Supervisor

Job Purpose:
A cleaning supervisor is responsible for overseeing the work activities of cleaners within his/her department, be it in a firm, hotel, or residential building.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establishment of cleaning standards and procedures for workers and ensure adherence to these standards and procedures.
• Coaching and developing employees (cleaners).
• Scheduling and assigning specific duties/roles to cleaners and ensuring that they are carried out expertly.
• Inspection of cleaning equipment on a regular basis to know when they are worn-out and request for replacement.
• Controlling and monitoring the usage of cleaning materials to avoid or minimize waste and/or misuse.
• Providing any required assistance to cleaners while they carry out their duties.

Skills Required:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good interpersonal attributes; the supervisor must be someone who gets along easily with people (easily approachable).
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Excellent decision-making ability.
• Proactive in the line of duty.
• Relevant experience in cleaning and supervision of cleaning procedures.
• Monitor all hygiene standards to ensure they are maintained to the required client and Sodexo satisfaction as outlined by Safeguard.
• Continually monitor all cleaning standards to ensure they are to the required client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Secondary school Certificate.

Other Requirements:

• To plan, organise and co-ordinate a team of cleaners across the site, to ensure standards of service are achieved and maintained.
