Civil Engineer Job Description

Site Engineer’s Site Supervision Responsibilities:

1. Act as the main technical adviser for quality control and assurance on a construction site and ensure that all materials used and works performed are in accordance with the specifications and drawings.
2. Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the subcontractor teams for Quality, Process and Costs.
3. Immediate information to the Project Manager for any obstruction and deviations to the progress of the work.
4. Plan the work and efficiently organize the site in order to meet agreed deadlines.
5. Document and Co-ordinate with various Sub-Contractors for the receiving and handover of work areas and scope.
6. Extremely Detail Oriented during the execution of the works.
7. Preparing site reports and filling in other paperwork.
8. Suggest process and technical design changes for value engineering and efficiency and implementation to those improvements.
9. Organizing materials and ensuring sites are safe and clean.
10. Oversee general safety matters on site.

Site Engineer’s Quantity Survey Responsibilities:

1. Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
2. Preparing cost estimates with detailed budget breakup and ensuring appropriate rate analysis made for each activity.
3. Obtain quotations from the respective suppliers/vendors according to tender requirements.
4. Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the best contracts.
5. Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
6. Keeping track of materials and involvement in procurement process when required.
7. Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
8. Arrange specified Sub-contractor’s payment claims and material on site.
9. Liaising with project managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
10. Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction or similar with sound knowledge of Engineering, construction, and design.
2. UAE driver's license.
3. Experience in a similar role with an established R.A.K Contractor is preferred.
4. Municipality Approval Certificate from any emirate in the UAE.
5. Proficient with AutoCAD and MS Office Suite.
6. Effective project management and organizational skills.
7. Excellent negotiating, interpersonal and networking skills.
8. Great written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
9. Civil Engineering Degree/Diploma (with Municipality Registration).
10. Have basic knowledge and understanding about the MEP systems and site coordination.
11. Have ability to work like a Quality engineer or a Site Supervisor.
