Job Description

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Chargehand to oversee and manage civil construction activities for residential projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering with a focus on residential construction. They will be responsible for supervising construction teams, ensuring work quality, and maintaining project schedules and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and coordinate civil construction activities on residential projects from start to finish.
2. Lead and manage a team of construction workers, subcontractors, and vendors.
3. Ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and safety standards.
4. Review and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
5. Coordinate material procurement, delivery, and usage efficiently to avoid delays and cost overruns.
6. Monitor project progress, identify issues, and implement solutions to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
7. Conduct regular inspections to ensure work quality and adherence to safety standards.
8. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to address project requirements and challenges.
9. Maintain accurate records of construction activities, including daily reports, progress photos, and documentation of any changes or deviations from the original plan.
10. Provide leadership, guidance, and training to construction teams to enhance performance and productivity.
11. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and project team members.
12. Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and best practices related to construction operations.

Desired Candidate Profile

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
2. Proven experience as a Civil Chargehand or similar role in residential construction projects.
3. Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and building codes.
4. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work effectively under pressure.
6. Proficiency in reading construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
7. Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
8. Understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in construction.
