GRS Recruitment is working in partnership with a rapidly expanding forex brokerage with a strong presence in the Middle East, seeking a highly skilled Chief Trading Risk Manager to join their dynamic team in Dubai. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the trading risk functions of the organization. This includes developing risk management frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance, monitoring risk exposures, and implementing strategies to mitigate trading risks. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the forex market, risk management practices, and trading platforms, along with strong leadership capabilities to guide a growing team.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the trading team, providing direction and oversight for all trading operations. Recruit, train, and mentor staff to foster a high-performance culture. Allocate responsibilities, set performance goals, and ensure that workflows are efficient and meet operational requirements.
- Develop and implement the company’s Trading Risk Management Policy, working closely with senior management to ensure it aligns with business goals. Oversee daily trading activities, monitoring market and operational risks and enforcing internal controls. Define risk thresholds and mitigate excess risk through external hedging strategies with liquidity providers.
- Continuously monitor client trading activities to identify potential risks and take proactive steps to mitigate them. Analyze aggregate risk exposures, address threats to the company, and ensure risk management safeguards are in place. Challenge any decisions that could increase risk and ensure they align with risk policies.
- Develop and refine tools, scripts, and technologies to enhance operational efficiency and reporting capabilities. Manage and optimize liquidity aggregator software to ensure optimal performance. Participate in QA testing of new software releases and system upgrades, troubleshooting issues to ensure the seamless operation of trading platforms.
- Prepare detailed periodic and ad-hoc risk reports for senior management, providing insights and actionable recommendations. Analyze trading performance and market trends to inform business decisions and risk strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., Pillar III, ICARAP, EMIR, ASIC, MIFIR). Assist with regulatory and trade reporting, staying abreast of evolving Forex market regulations and standards.
- Keep the team updated on relevant market news, economic events, and trading developments. Contribute to the development of new financial products and manage the timely configuration of new trading groups on company platforms.
- Oversee the transmission and execution of client orders, ensuring smooth operations while monitoring for any potential abusive trading activities.
- Lead various strategic initiatives within the Trading Department, ensuring timely execution and alignment with the company’s overall goals.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field or equivalent industry experience.
- Solid experience in trading risk management within the Forex industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record managing a high-volume trading desk, with expertise across FX, commodities, equities, and futures markets. Strong understanding of risk management practices, regulatory frameworks, and financial markets. Advanced proficiency in MT5 Administrator and Manager tools, with excellent skills in MS Excel.
- Holding a CySEC Advanced Certificate or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in tools such as Centroid, FXCubic, Maje, PrimeXM Xcore, or similar platforms is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Fluency in English is essential. Familiarity with programming, A.I., quantitative trading, arbitrage, and cryptocurrency is a plus.
