Chief Technology Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled software developer with fintech expertise to take on the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for one of our key trading clients.

• You do not need to be a current CTO—we are looking for a capable individual who is ready to build and lead a technology team from the ground up.
• Our client specializes in managing banking applications for African banks and is expanding into fintech services, including Payment Service Provider (PSP) and Money Services Business (MSB) operations.
• This role presents an exciting opportunity to grow with the company and play a key role in shaping its technology strategy and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Technology Leadership: Develop and execute a long-term technology roadmap aligned with business objectives.
• Team Building & Development: Hire, mentor, and lead a cross-functional engineering team while fostering a culture of innovation.
• Product Development: Oversee the design, development, and implementation of banking and fintech solutions, ensuring scalability and security.
• Regulatory & Compliance Management: Ensure all solutions comply with financial regulations, industry standards, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Operations & Expansion: Manage the technical operations of both the banking app management business and the new fintech company providing PSP and MSB services.
• Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with banks, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies to align technology with industry needs.

Requirements

• Experience: At least 7 years in software development within fintech, ideally with experience in digital banking, payments, PSP, or MSB services.
• Technical Skills: Expertise in software engineering, system architecture, modern development frameworks, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of digital payments, blockchain, risk management systems, and regulatory compliance in African banking and fintech markets.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Mindset & Leadership: A strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills, leadership abilities, and the drive to scale a startup into a major fintech player.
