Job Description: We are seeking a competent Chief Accountant (Chartered Accountant) for a leading fitness company in Dubai. The ideal candidate will maintain financial reporting, finalize accounts, and manage the monthly closing of books. The Chief Accountant will be responsible for computing, clarifying, managing customer receivables and payables, and ensuring the company's financial records are complete. Carry out day-to-day operations and work closely with top management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Maintain and finalize financial reporting and accounts.
Ensure accurate monthly closing of books of accounts.
Provide strategic direction, track cash flow, and manage accounting and finance departments.
Oversee the capital structure and optimize financing options.
Monitor business performance, establish corrective measures, and prepare detailed reports for management.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and Auditing standards.
Guide the finance team and carry out tasks related to internal and external audits and tax filing.
Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory entities.
Operational Responsibilities:
Collaborate with senior managers to develop budget proposals and ensure contract compliance.
Research revenue opportunities, analyze internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement.
Coordinate with external agencies (e.g., payroll, benefits, recruitment) and internal staff responsible for HR aspects.
Maintain oversight of company financial health, fund flows, and finance planning.
Team Management:
Hire and train a junior accountant or virtual assistant to support future operations.
Oversee team processing client invoicing, receipts, and receivables.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare payment cheques, bank transfers, and other financial transactions as required.
Prepare and maintain periodic reconciliations of vendors and suppliers.
Prepare periodic management reports/MIS and VAT reports for submission.
Ensure timely month-end closing and review customers' and vendors' accounts.
Financing and Banking:
Build and maintain strong banking relationships.
Identify and arrange financing options for the company.
Oversee financing with banks and other financial institutions.
Track all aspects of receivables and payables and provide management with dashboards on activities and forecasts.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Chief Accountant, Sr. Finance Manager, or a relevant role in companies generating AED 40 million annually.
A Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices in the UAE.
Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
Proficient in MS Office and financial management software.
Analytical mindset, comfortable with numbers.
At least 5 years of experience in a senior management role.
Minimum 10 years of proven experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 5 years in the UAE.
Proven ability to build and maintain banking relationships and manage financing with banks.
