Chief Financial Officer

Our client, a leading construction firm specializing in commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their executive team and drive financial excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy and Planning
   1. Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy to align with business goals.
   2. Lead long-term budget planning and cost management in line with the strategic plan.
   3. Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO, Board, and executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
2. Financial Reporting and Compliance
   1. Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
   2. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
   3. Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure timely completion of annual audits.
3. Operational Finance Management
   1. Supervise the finance department, ensuring accurate financial analysis and reporting.
   2. Implement effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
   3. Oversee cash flow management, treasury functions, and investment activities.
4. Construction Project Financial Oversight
   1. Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and track financial performance.
   2. Analyze project costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
   3. Review contracts to ensure financial terms are favorable and align with company objectives.
5. Risk Management
   1. Identify and mitigate financial risks to the company.
   2. Develop risk management policies and procedures.
   3. Ensure adequate insurance coverage for all aspects of the business.
6. Leadership and Team Development
   1. Provide leadership, direction, and management to the finance team (including VP, Director, and finance managers).
   2. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance department.
   3. Mentor and develop finance staff to ensure high performance levels.

Qualifications

1. Education:
   1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Master’s degree (MBA) or professional certifications (CMA, CPA) are preferred.
2. Experience:
   1. Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position.
   2. Experience in the construction industry is required.
   3. Proven achievements in the GCC or UAE.
   4. Arabic speaking is mandatory.
   5. Proven track record of financial strategy development and implementation.
3. Skills:
   1. Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices.
   2. Familiarity with main ERP systems.
   3. Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
   4. Excellent reasoning and problem-solving skills.
   5. Proficiency in financial software and tools related to construction finance management.
   6. Strong leadership abilities with the capability to influence at all levels of the organization.
   7. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
