CHIEF DESIGNER - NAVAL ARCHITECT

Responsibilities

1. Liaise directly with clients, sub-consultants, contractors.
2. Work with the design team to develop 3D visuals and concept narratives, ensuring visuals are as per specifications.
3. Review Project’s FF&E technical submissions and specifications.
4. Produce concept designs and mood boards related to FF&E selections, finishes, ID Material finishes, sanitary ware, ironmongery, gym equipment, and hardware selections.
5. Maintain strong supplier relations and source unique project materials.
6. Review FF&E and material selections from the design team to ensure quality and cohesion.
7. Support in the production of FF&E specification books and other relevant documents.
8. Check basic CAD work for layouts and bespoke furniture design, and review shop drawings and prototypes to ensure alignment with design intent.
9. Understand individual clients' needs and the needs of users, developing FF&E design concepts in consultation with the client and establishing final briefs.
10. Provide proposals for improving company standards related to FF&E specifications.
11. Check the FF&E deliverables for projects.
12. Mentor and direct junior and middle-weight designers.
13. Supervise quality at the design and delivery stage and on-site when required for the project.
14. Keep up to date with new developments in the design industry.
15. Have an excellent understanding of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, AutoCAD, Excel, and technical shop drawings.
16. Possess exceptional knowledge of suppliers, materials, fabrics, sanitary ware, lighting, and ironmongery specifications.
17. Demonstrate the proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
18. Meet tight project deadlines.
19. Exhibit a strong sense of design flair, love of art, and furniture arrangements.
20. Maintain a strong sense of responsibility.
21. Show strong conceptualization and presentation skills.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor of Architecture / Interior Design.
2. 8 to 10 years of experience with at least 5 years working with international consulting companies in the UAE.
3. Strong technical and design expertise with experience handling large-scale projects from concept to completion.
