Chief Architect

A company seeks an experienced and visionary Chief Architect with a strong background in engineering consultancy to lead architectural projects and design teams. The successful candidate will bring over 5-10 years of expertise in managing large-scale, complex architectural projects in Dubai. As a key leader in the firm, the Chief Architect will ensure that all architectural designs meet the highest standards of quality, functionality, and sustainability, while also ensuring compliance with local building regulations and codes, especially those of Dubai Municipality. This is a strategic leadership role with both creative and technical oversight in a fast-paced environment.

• Provide visionary leadership to architectural teams, ensuring design excellence, technical accuracy, and alignment with client objectives.
• Lead and oversee architectural projects from conception to completion, maintaining adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
• Mentor and manage architectural teams, ensuring continuous professional development and a collaborative work environment.

• Take full responsibility for the architectural design, development, and coordination of projects from concept to completion.
• Develop, review, and approve innovative designs and concepts that comply with local regulations and international best practices.
• Conduct rigorous quality checks on drawings, specifications, and construction documentation to ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality (DM) standards and codes and master development guidelines.
• Guide the preparation and submission of authority approvals and NOCs.

• Liaise with clients to understand project requirements, present design solutions, and address concerns effectively.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster repeat business and referrals.

• Oversee compliance with all Dubai Municipality regulations, including zoning laws, environmental regulations, and building codes.
• Ensure all designs, materials, and construction processes adhere to Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, DDA, JAFZA, DEWA, Green building codes and other relevant authorities requirements.
• Stay updated on changes in regulations, building codes, and technology to integrate innovative and compliant solutions.

• Drive innovation in design processes and implementation, incorporating cutting-edge technologies, materials, and sustainable practices.
• Stay current with industry trends, market demands, and sustainability initiatives to integrate best practices into projects.

• Establish and enforce design quality standards, ensuring that all projects meet or exceed the required specifications.
• Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies, addressing issues before they affect project timelines or outcomes.

• Collaborate with the business development team to identify new opportunities and expand the firm's portfolio.
• Lead technical presentations, proposals, and bid submissions to secure new projects.

• Bachelor / Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Certification from a recognized professional body (e.g., RIBA, AIA, or equivalent) is preferred.

• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in architectural design and project management, specifically within the engineering sector in Dubai.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects in Dubai.
• Demonstrated experience working with Dubai Municipality regulations and obtaining necessary approvals and permits.

• Unlimited Dubai Municipality (DM) license holder (Grade A) is a must.

• Proficient in using architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other BIM tools.
• Thorough understanding of DM regulations, Trakhees standards, and other UAE building codes and authority requirements.

• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team of professionals.
• Strong client-facing communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage expectations and resolve conflicts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in both Arabic and English.

• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a solution-oriented approach to design challenges.
• In-depth knowledge of sustainability practices and green building certifications (e.g., Green Building, LEED, Estidama).
• Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

• Must hold a valid UAE driving license.
