Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
  2. Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, to maintain efficient financial processes.
  3. Conduct regular audits and internal controls assessments to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  4. Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and facilitating smooth audit processes.
  5. Develop and maintain effective accounting policies and procedures to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.
  6. Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support strategic decision-making and financial planning.
  7. Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs and investments.
  8. Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  9. Implement and utilize accounting software and systems, optimizing functionalities for better financial management.
  10. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring the company adheres to best practices.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  2. Professional accounting certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly desirable.
  3. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a free zone or similar environment.
  4. Proven leadership experience in managing accounting teams and driving performance improvements.
  5. Strong knowledge of local tax regulations and compliance requirements within the UAE.
  6. Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
  7. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel for advanced financial analysis.
  8. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
  9. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
  10. Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
