Chief Accountant

The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operation, reporting, and compliance. This role will assist the Financial Controller or as directed by the Management, ensuring the group financial strategy is implemented in accordance with the Group’s policy & procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily accounting operations, mentoring staff, ensuring teamwork and efficient operation.
• Verify daily bank balances and review Bank Reconciliation statements weekly.
• Oversee Accounts Payable and ensure supplier payments are up to date.
• Verify the accuracy of General Cashier report and ensure that revenue is daily deposited into the bank by the General Cashier.
• Ensure proper controls of Inventory and maintain accurate Inventory records.
• Perform month-end accounts reconciliation of all general ledger balances before issuing monthly financial statements and report any gaps or variances.
• Review monthly reports including F&B report and Cost Controller's report as per company policy.
• Ensure all tax payments and filings are completed timely, and variances are resolved.
• Prepare various monthly reports as required by Management.
• Assist the Financial Controller in reviewing application of accounting policy, budgeting, financial analysis, and ad-hoc duties.
• Ensure proper filing of accounting records, including contracts, for easy retrieval.
• Stay updated with new regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting & preferably CA (Inter).
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a similar role.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in Zoho Books and Zoho Inventory systems.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and POS systems related to hospitality.
• Possesses leadership, development, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Results and service-oriented with attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Professionalism and integrity.
