Understands, supports and promotes the mission, vision and values of the Organization. Provides age-appropriate patient care according to the Nursing Scope of Practice as defined by the regulatory body. Provides professional leadership through the supervision of the patient care team and the maintenance of clinical standards and quality of patient care within the unit during their shift. Adheres to and promotes the Professional Nurses Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi. Promotion of health and delivery of health education.

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

The Charge Nurse is responsible for the overall daily operations and smooth and efficient patient flow within the clinical area. The Charge Nurse coordinates daily administrative duties, including schedules, assignments, and patient care. The Charge Nurse carries out their duties by adhering to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, acts in the best interest of the patient, and fully supports the mission, vision, and values of SSMC. The Charge Nurse shall have the knowledge of healthcare systems, demonstrate the ability to interact, relate to/work with, and support the activities of a diverse multidisciplinary workforce. They also act as the clinical resource person in their work unit and ensure that the staff delivers care professionally. The Charge Nurse delegates assignments and provides supervision for the support staff in accordance with their level of training and the patient’s acuity.

  5. Ensuring the provision of optimum clinical care, customer satisfaction, and patient safety.

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications:

Required

  1. Bachelor degree in nursing OR
  2. Degree in Nursing (minimum two (2) years course duration) AND Registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia
  3. AND valid/current national license
  4. BLS, ACLS, PALS

Desired

  1. International accreditation experience

Required Experience

  1. Not less than 4 years’ clinical experience post qualification in an appropriate and relevant healthcare setting and
  2. Not less than 2 years’ experience as a Charge Nurse/Shift Lead in Cardiovascular and Executive Services/Royal Suite.
