CCTV & Low Current System Technician
Job description
1. Installation & Configuration:
- Install, configure, and test CCTV cameras (IP & analog), DVR/NVR systems, and video management software.
- Set up and configure low current systems, including access control, fire alarm, public address, and intrusion alarm systems.
- Perform cable pulling, termination, and dressing for structured cabling (CAT6, fiber optics, coaxial).
- Ensure proper power supply connections and grounding for all installed devices.
- Conduct site surveys and prepare installation plans as per design specifications.
2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of CCTV and low current systems to ensure they function correctly.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues in cameras, access control, and other security systems.
- Repair or replace defective components, wiring, or equipment as needed.
- Upgrade firmware and software of security systems to maintain optimal performance.
3. Network & System Integration:
- Integrate CCTV systems with network infrastructure and remote monitoring solutions.
- Configure network settings (IP addressing, port forwarding, VLANs) for security systems.
- Ensure compatibility of installed systems with existing IT infrastructure.
4. Compliance & Documentation:
- Adhere to safety standards, electrical codes, and manufacturer guidelines during installations.
- Document system configurations, wiring diagrams, and maintenance reports.
- Provide user training and support to clients on operating the installed systems.
5. Customer Support & Coordination:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand technical requirements.
- Provide after-sales support and troubleshooting assistance to customers.
- Recommend system upgrades and enhancements based on client needs.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- Experience with CCTV systems, access control, gate barriers, and other low current systems.
- Knowledge of networking principles (IP addressing, routers, switches).
- Proficiency in cable installation, termination, and testing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
