Job description

Roles and Responsibilities

You will develop top-notch tools and processes to ensure our menu and pricing are the most attractive in the region. Collaborating with a remote team, you will manage menus and core data to ensure smooth execution of your strategy. You will also build competitor benchmarking capabilities and communicate recommendations to partners and senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

Category Management

  • Develop and own the category management pillar of Deliveroo’s marketplace.
  • Create and refine a data-driven model to identify and close conversion gaps.
  • Localise centrally developed robust competitor benchmarking tools.

Menu Development

  • Continuously assess menu performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Create automated tools for recommendations and decision-making.
  • Design and execute structured tests with clear outcomes.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly range reviews with detailed, data-driven evaluations.

Pricing Strategy & Trade Planning

  • Develop UAE value strategy and test & learn agenda.
  • Localise centrally developed pricing tools and embed price checks into regular processes.
  • Support Trade planning process from planning to result evaluation.

Collaboration

  • Work with the central grocery team to apply best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience as a Category Manager or related experience for a grocer is essential - particularly with a marketplace.
  • Experience in delivering recommendations from data analysis.
  • Experience presenting to senior stakeholders and owning outcomes.
  • Experience influencing in a matrix organisation.
  • Experience working cross-functionally to deliver projects.
  • SQL knowledge is a plus.
  • Resourceful, action and detail-oriented, with a high ownership mindset to deliver measurable impact.
  • Start-up mentality with a love for both getting deep in the detail and driving top-level strategy.

  • Strategic Planning: Expertise in developing and executing category strategies that align with overall business goals.

  • Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the market landscape, including competitors, trends, and customer preferences.

  • Financial Acumen: Strong grasp of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis related to category performance.

  • Project Management: Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects, timelines, and priorities effectively.

  • Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and supply chain teams to drive category initiatives.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting ideas, strategies, and reports to stakeholders.

  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate favorable terms and conditions with vendors to optimize margins.

  • Leadership: Experience in leading and mentoring a team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
