Cashier

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cashier with prior experience in the jewellery industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will handle cash transactions, maintain accurate records, and deliver excellent customer service. Knowledge of jewellery products, billing processes, and payment methods is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Billing and Cash Handling:
   • Process sales transactions accurately, including cash, credit/debit cards, and digital payments.
   • Ensure proper invoicing of jewellery items and maintain records of transactions.
2. Customer Service:
   • Greet customers warmly and assist with payment-related queries.
   • Handle exchanges, refunds, and returns in compliance with company policies.
3. Inventory and Reconciliation:
   • Maintain updated stock records for jewellery items during billing.
   • Perform daily cash reconciliation and report any discrepancies to the management.
4. Security and Compliance:
   • Adhere to cash handling and jewellery security protocols.
   • Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulations.
5. Additional Duties:
   • Assist in packaging and secure handling of jewellery items.
   • Support the sales team during busy hours.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Experience: Minimum 1-2 years as a cashier, preferably in the jewellery industry.
2. Education: High school diploma or equivalent (degree in accounting or finance is a plus).
3. Skills:
   • Proficiency in operating billing systems and POS machines.
   • Strong numerical and analytical skills for accurate billing and cash reconciliation.
   • Good communication and interpersonal skills to assist customers effectively.
   • Attention to detail to avoid errors in transactions or invoices.
4. Knowledge: Basic understanding of jewellery grading, pricing, and industry practices is preferred.

Work Environment:

• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
• May require standing for extended periods and handling heavy jewellery pieces during billing.
