Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and guest-focused Outlet/Restaurant Cashier to join Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate billing, seamless payment processing, and excellent service across our diverse dining venues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process guest bills accurately and efficiently using the hotel's Micros Symphony (POS) system.
  • Handle cash, credit card, and digital transactions in compliance with financial policies.
  • Reconcile daily sales, manage cash floats, and submit accurate reports to Finance.
  • Ensure all transactions are recorded correctly, applying tips, discounts, etc. as required.
  • Provide courteous and efficient service, assisting guests with payment inquiries.
  • Collaborate with the restaurant and bar teams to ensure a smooth service flow.
  • Follow hotel policies on financial controls, cash handling, and data confidentiality.
  • Assist with end-of-shift audits and resolve any discrepancies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Verify the General Cashiers Report and Income JV.
  2. Review supplier invoices and General Ledger coding of expenses.
  3. Verify supplier payments with supporting invoices, LPOs, etc.
  4. Verify expense reimbursement with supporting documents and ensure that they are in accordance with the policies and procedures.
  5. Review payroll reports with supporting documents at the month end.
  6. Preparation of General Ledger Reconciliation.
  7. Follow up for the renewals of contracts expiring.
  8. Adjustments entries to be prepared on the basis of General Ledger reconciliation.
  9. Preparation, posting, and updating standard journal vouchers and adjustment journal voucher entries at the month end such as prepaid expense, operating provisions, payroll, payroll accruals, general stores issues, engineering store issues, reconciliation of food & beverage cost accruals, provisions, allocation of expense, etc.
  10. Preparation of bank reconciliation statement.
  11. Review General Ledger at month end and analyze expenses and major variations from the budget.
  12. Prepare 1st of the month fax.
  13. Preparing and posting adjustments and closing entries.
  14. Distribute departmental schedules.
  15. Transfer P&L to retained earnings.
  16. Print and check financial statements.
  17. Distribute financial statements to users of the same.
  18. Check General Cashiers cash count summary.
  19. Ensures that all accounting reports and job deadlines for other staff are met.
  20. Miscellaneous jobs include the following and have to be completed as and when the need arises:
  21. Reconciliation of operating equipment and clearing of provisions by year end.
  22. Accounts Payable Aging report to be reviewed.
  23. Interhotel payments to be followed up.
  24. Record Rooms of accounts to be checked.
  25. Assist the Duty Manager in any task outlined/detailed by him/her.
  26. To ensure that the standards required by Law and by Management are maintained at all times in the areas specified above.

Qualifications :

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in a similar role within luxury hospitality or F&B operations.
  • Preferably in early twenties age.
  • Preferably holding a college degree or high school diploma in accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of POS systems, billing procedures, and financial controls.
  • Excellent numerical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle high-volume transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to enhance guest experience.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, multi-outlet environment including weekends and holidays.
