We are seeking an experienced Cargo Manager to oversee and manage air freight operations, ensuring seamless logistics and delivery. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in air freight forwarding, stakeholder management, and operational efficiency. The Cargo Manager will play a crucial role in building relationships with airlines, managing freight budgets, and optimizing cargo operations for maximum profitability and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Operational Management:
- Oversee daily cargo handling operations, including loading, unloading, storage, and transportation.
- Ensure compliance with legal and procedural formalities related to shipments and logistics.
- Coordinate with airlines, shipping companies, freight forwarders, and ground handling staff for seamless operations.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize cargo operations and reduce costs.
- Supervise daily air freight operations, including handling, inventory, and freight distribution.
- Stakeholder Relations:
- Build and maintain influential relationships with airlines, ground handling agents (GHA), and freight forwarders.
- Negotiate carrier agreements, block space agreements, and sector development.
- Collaborate with airlines to plan and develop new routes and sectors.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all cargo operations comply with international, national, and local regulations (e.g., IATA, ICAO, and customs laws).
- Maintain documentation and records to meet regulatory and audit requirements.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and implement necessary changes in processes.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and vendors.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints regarding cargo services promptly.
- Work on service improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Mentor and train team members to achieve performance excellence and maintain high service standards.
- Lead teams across sales, operations, customer service, and pricing departments.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

- Identify potential risks in cargo handling and transportation.
