We have a fantastic opportunity for a Payroll Apprentice to join a fantastic team in a great accountancy practice based in Eastbourne. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and highly successful payroll team. You will work with a varied client portfolio across a complete mix of industries, ranging from small director only payrolls through to multi-million pound groups. Part-time applicants will be considered.

The client would support you with development and qualifications, providing study support towards further education should you require it.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of weekly / fortnightly / four-weekly / monthly and annual payrolls, within tight deadlines
• Gain an understanding of all aspects of payroll including:
• Tax and NI Calculations
• Statutory Maternity/Paternity/Adoption payments
• Statutory sickness payments
• Student loans and statutory recoveries
• Understanding of taxable benefits and expenses
• HMRC requirements for RTI processing
• Holiday Pay Calculations
• Basic understanding of Auto Enrolment
• Prepare payments by BACS for salaries and PAYE
• Submission of FPS and EPS for all clients each pay period
• Deal with a variety of client and internal queries
• Liaising with HM Revenue & Customs with client queries
• Other ad-hoc tasks as required

Requirements

• Work on Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Must be able to work to tight deadlines, using your own initiative.
• Interested in a career in Payroll.
