Training and Development: Providing training to new staff members, as well as ongoing coaching to improve performance, product knowledge, and customer service skills.
Scheduling: Managing staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours, and ensuring that labor costs align with the restaurant’s budget.
Conflict Resolution: Addressing and resolving any issues or conflicts among staff or with customers, maintaining a positive work environment.
Customer Service Excellence
Guest Experience: Ensuring guests receive exceptional service, addressing customer complaints, and resolving issues quickly to ensure guest satisfaction.
Handling Special Requests: Responding to specific customer requests or dietary needs, and ensuring that staff meets these needs.
Greeting and Seating Guests: Overseeing guest seating arrangements, ensuring that customers are greeted promptly and seated according to restaurant policies.
Monitoring Dining Experience: Regularly checking with guests during their meal to ensure satisfaction and to address any concerns in a timely manner.
Operations and Workflow Management
Coordination with Kitchen: Ensuring efficient communication between the front-of-house and kitchen teams, relaying orders, and managing timing to ensure dishes are served fresh and on time.
Maintaining Cleanliness: Ensuring that all dining areas, including tables, chairs, floors, and restrooms, are kept clean and well-maintained throughout service.
Stock Management: Keeping track of restaurant supplies, including menus, napkins, silverware, and other items needed for service. Coordinating with suppliers and managers to order items as necessary.
Overseeing Food and Beverage Service: Supervising the delivery of food and beverages to guests, ensuring accuracy in orders and quality of presentation.
Financial and Administrative Duties
Revenue and Cost Control: Assisting in controlling costs related to labor, food, and beverage. Helping the management team ensure that sales goals are met while staying within budget.
Cash Handling: Overseeing cash handling procedures, ensuring that all payments are processed correctly, and maintaining accurate records for cash, credit, and debit transactions.
Inventory Management: Assisting with inventory tracking and ensuring that stock levels are consistent, maintaining optimal stock levels and ordering when necessary.
Sales Monitoring: Keeping track of sales trends and identifying areas for improvement, helping to implement strategies to increase sales during slow periods.
