Buying Director

Job Description:

Our client is a leading fashion retailer based in Dubai. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Buying Director to join their senior management team.

Role Overview:

Within This Role You Will:

1. Develop and implement a strategic buying plan for the category that aligns with the overall goals and objectives of the business.
2. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and manufacturers, negotiating terms and contracts as necessary.
3. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the latest trends and consumer preferences, and use this knowledge to inform purchasing decisions.
4. Manage the inventory of apparel products, including forecasting demand, determining appropriate inventory levels, and ensuring timely and efficient replenishment of stock.
5. Analyze sales data to identify trends, optimize pricing, and inform future buying decisions.
6. Work collaboratively with other departments within the company, including marketing, sales, and operations, to ensure a coordinated approach to product development, promotion, and sales.
7. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, manufacturers, and industry partners.
8. Ensure that all purchasing activities are conducted in compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
9. Manage the budget for category purchasing, ensuring that expenses are within budget and that revenue targets are met.
10. Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the buying process.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a background in fashion buying with significant range building, sourcing, and product development experience. Experience of working at a similar level within a retail head office environment is essential.
