Responsible to develop, implement, track and optimize the company's planning & Buying strategy and purchase decisions for the products in the retail outlets to achieve company goals.
Key Accountabilities
Making purchase decisions based on customer demand, including price, quality and availability; market trends, financial budgets, and company policy.
Coordinating and managing new merchandise and reviewing existing items to ensure products remain competitive.
Overseeing the complete buying procedure to maximize profits and provide a commercially viable range of merchandise at competitive prices by fully understanding customer needs.
Keeping up to date with retail market trends and planning to adapt to changes in demand in accordance with the division's budget and company policy.
Analyzing retail buying patterns and predicting future trends to plan the buying procedure and budgeting.
Responsible for the continuous training of the team and mentoring of new staff.
Regularly updating and reviewing performance indicators, sales, discount levels, and managing plans for stock levels.
Planning for positive reactions to changes in demand and logistics.
Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers for future products.
Meeting suppliers, attending trade fairs, collecting samples, negotiating terms of contract, and supporting the company in maintaining high-end business relationships with suppliers and principals.
Liaising with all retail departments within the organization to ensure projects, including trade fairs and promotional events, are completed on time in accordance with company policy.
Keeping updated reports and forecasting sales levels.
Presenting new ranges to senior retail managers.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Business Management.
10+ years of experience managing retail buying for fashion, food, and pharma products.
Strong understanding of current online marketing concepts, strategies, and best practices.
