Job Description
As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services for an organization. Your primary duties will include evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of products. You will need to analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions and maintain relationships with vendors to secure competitive pricing and terms. The role of a Buyer requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure. Additionally, strong communication and negotiation skills are essential to successfully navigate the procurement process. A successful candidate will also possess a solid understanding of supply chain management principles and be able to contribute to overall cost savings and efficiency within the organization.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  2. Source and negotiate with vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing for company purchases.
  3. Review purchase requests and ensure all necessary approvals are obtained before proceeding with purchasing activities.
  4. Monitor inventory levels and place orders to replenish stock as needed.
  5. Analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
  6. Collaborate with other departments to understand their purchasing needs and requirements.
  7. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all purchasing activities.
  8. Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues or concerns that may arise.
  9. Research new suppliers and products to expand the company's vendor network.
  10. Keep accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery information for reporting and analysis purposes.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role.
  3. Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  4. Ability to analyze market trends and make informed purchasing decisions.
  5. Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
