Overview
The Buyer is responsible for identifying varied sources of commodities and services, evaluating bids, awarding contracts and purchase orders, maintaining contact with vendors, and maintaining comprehensive descriptions of available products and current prices of CB&I Storage Solutions products and services. The role directly reports to the Sr Procurement Manager and routinely interacts with Engineering, Operations, and Estimating.

Responsibilities

1. Proactively embraces and promotes the company's HSE requirements and culture.
2. Prepares contract documents and bidders list, proactively seeks out and qualifies new potential bidders.
3. Assembles and distributes requests for quotation from vendors.
4. Responsible for purchase of material and services at or below estimate using procurement processes while maintaining consistency with schedule requirements.
5. Perform bid evaluations and issue purchase orders for commodity items and finished goods.
6. Negotiate small to medium value purchase orders for regional and/or international purchases.
7. Assists with the evaluation, award, and conforming process.
8. Able to resolve simple claim or dispute events with vendors.
9. May be responsible for soliciting budgetary pricing for equipment, material, or labor to support estimating/proposal efforts for a non-major project or projects.
10. Proactively recommends, supports, and implements improvements to tools, systems, and software to improve efficiency and maximize autonomy.
11. Effectively exemplifies the company's Leadership Competencies.

Local Requirements

1. 3-4 Years of relevant experience in local supplies, tools, vehicle rentals, site services.
2. Management of Suppliers / Managed a high-performance supplier base for the supplies, tools, rentals, services.
3. Work location: Project Site Ruwais LNG, initial training at home office in Dubai for two months.
4. Report to Project Procurement Lead.

Qualifications

1. 1-5 Years of relevant work experience (Recent College Grads will be considered with relevant internships).
2. EPC Industry experience is preferred.
3. BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, Technical / Engineering, Construction Management or related field (Required).
