Job Summary:We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager – MICE to join our Sales & Marketing team at Shangri-La Qaryat al Beri, Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the UAE market, proven ability to develop strategic partnerships, and drive revenue growth through meetings, incentives, conferences, and events (MICE).Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic business development plans to grow the MICE segment and achieve revenue targets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, direct bookers, and agency partners in the local and regional markets.
Proactively identify new business opportunities and establish long-term partnerships with corporate clients, event organizers, and travel agencies.
Oversee all aspects of event planning, from initial inquiry to execution, ensuring client satisfaction and successful delivery of events.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create customized proposals and presentations, reflecting brand standards and tailored to client needs.
Monitor market trends and competitor activity to adjust strategies and capitalize on new opportunities.
Ensure that MICE-related products and services exceed guest expectations, enhancing customer loyalty and brand reputation.
Manage budgets and revenue forecasts, ensuring alignment with overall hotel financial goals.
Provide training and support to the events team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Attend networking events, exhibitions, and trade shows to promote the hotel and generate new leads.
Requirements:
Proven track record in business development or sales & marketing, particularly in the MICE segment within luxury hospitality.
Strong understanding of the UAE market, with a focus on corporate and event-driven business.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to develop creative strategies to drive revenue and increase market share.
Proficient in OPMS (Opera Property Management System) and other sales and event management software.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of regional market trends and competitive landscape.
Level of Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field.
Work Hours:
Full-time position, with flexibility to attend events and client meetings outside regular working hours.
Experience in Months:
Minimum of 60 months of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within luxury hospitality, with a focus on MICE.
