Role Description
This full-time, on-site Business Development Manager role, based in Dubai, focuses on identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and achieving sales targets within the Oil and Gas and Maritime Commercial Shipping sectors across the Middle East (UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar). Additionally, the Business Development Manager will conduct market research, analyze trends, and develop customized solutions to meet client needs, following the business targets set by the Management.
Key Position Accountabilities
The ME - Business Development Manager is responsible and accountable for (but not limited to) the following:
- Plan and prioritize personal sales activities and customer prospects towards achieving agreed business and revenue targets.
- Responsible for identifying new business opportunities, analysing market trends and developing strategies to drive sales.
- Develop new customers through proper propositions and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, to perfect quality of service, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for finding business opportunities and liaising with internal Teams to realize business opportunities complementary to existing and new accounts.
- Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and supply relevant reports and information.
- Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development.
- Ability to interact, present to, develop and drive business opportunity at a buyer level, Manager, Director or C-Level positions.
- Maintain and develop existing customers by keeping them abreast of new products and services provided by Group to upsell.
- Define and propose initiatives to increase savings such as Cost of Goods (COGS) and other operational costs.
- Monitor accounts receivables, update and negotiate payment terms, agreements.
- Ensure sales targets are achieved and results and actions are communicated on a regular basis to the Managing Director via reports and meetings.
- Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the company’s Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) and Ethics & Compliance policies (Ensure clients meet our Compliance / KYC requirements and assist in ensuring the financial stability of the client).
Education, Experience, Training and Special Skills
- Bachelor's degree with business, commerce or related discipline preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact with multiple levels of decision makers.
- 7-10 years experience working in a professional/commercial environment with 4+ years in O&G and/or Maritime Shipping Industry in a similar capacity.
- Ideal candidate should have experience in working in a distribution type environment and understand full supply chain from A to Z.
- Experience in a middle management position for a large organization.
- Business to business client relationship management experience or corporate account management.
- Ability to prepare/write and present business concepts, proposals and agreements.
- Service agreement negotiation and management Business case development.
- Experienced facilitator and presenter of briefs to senior internal and external stakeholders using presentation technology tools.
- Working to tight and competing deadlines, and meeting and exceeding client expectations.
- Proficient in MS Office applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Positive attitude, proactive, committed and driven while being a team player.
- Willingness to travel, mostly in the GCC area but some international travel may be required.
- Must have driving license and own automobile (car allowance would be provided).
