Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join our Client Freight & Logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving business growth by identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with clients, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality logistics solutions. You will also be responsible for developing strategies to increase market share and achieve revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities in the freight and logistics sector. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies to increase market penetration and drive revenue growth in the logistics and freight domain.
  • Client Management: Engage with clients to understand their needs, propose tailored solutions, and oversee the successful delivery of services.
  • Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitors. Provide insights to senior management for strategic planning.
  • Proposal & Contract Negotiation: Prepare and present proposals, including pricing strategies. Negotiate contracts with clients to close sales and ensure favorable terms for the company.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the operations, finance, and customer service teams to ensure smooth service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Report & Forecasting: Provide regular updates and reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and performance against targets. Forecast future sales and growth potential.
  • Networking: Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to represent the company and generate new leads.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in business development or sales in the freight and logistics industry.
  • Strong understanding of freight, shipping, and logistics operations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement sales strategies and close deals effectively.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
