Business Data Analyst

The Analyst - Business Data is responsible for analysing complex datasets to provide insights that drive business operations.

The role involves gathering and interpreting data, developing detailed reports, and collaborating with various departments to enhance operations efficiency and support strategic planning.

The incumbent will build and maintain reporting tools (such as dashboards) to track data, use this data to track KPIs, generate reports, metrics and dashboards and assist in developing enterprise reporting and data warehousing processes.

Responsibilities

1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
   • Collect, clean and analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business objectives.
   • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
   • Conduct in-depth analysis to support business initiatives, including market analysis, financial forecasting, and customer behaviour analysis.
2. Data Management:
   • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data by performing regular data quality checks and troubleshooting data issues.
   • Work closely with the IT team to maintain data management systems and ensure data availability for analysis.
   • Develop and maintain documentation of data processes, methodologies, and definitions to ensure data consistency.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration:
   • Collaborate with various departments (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Operations) to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights.
   • Present data findings and recommendations to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and dashboards.
   • Participate in cross-functional projects to leverage data for process improvement and strategic decision-making.
4. Business Insights and Recommendations:
   • Analyse business processes and identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency.
   • Provide data-driven recommendations to improve business performance, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
   • Support strategic planning by analysing business trends and forecasting future performance.
5. Advanced Analytics:
   • Utilize statistical methods, predictive modelling, and machine learning techniques to analyse data and provide forward-looking insights.
   • Design and execute experiments (e.g., A/B testing) to evaluate the impact of business initiatives.
   • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging data analysis techniques to enhance analytics capabilities.
6. Process Improvement:
   • Develop automated processes to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting.
   • Identify and recommend improvements to existing data management and analysis processes.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Data Science or similar fields.
• Skill Certification in Microsoft PowerBI.
• 3 years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, and reporting.
• Proven experience and skills in business intelligence and reporting tools.
• Proven experience with data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R, or Excel.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.

Job Specific Skills:

• Python or similar data analysis related programming language.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful insights.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and experience in creating dashboards and reports.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Experience in statistical analysis, predictive modelling, and data mining techniques.
