We are currently seeking a Business Analyst – 6 Months Contract Role for one of our very well-known banking clients, to be based in their Dubai office.

Job Purpose:

Support the planning, monitoring, and execution of project plan for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system replacement project. The role acts as a liaison for cross-functional stakeholders like senior management, subject matter experts, end users, technology and external partner in the implementation process, ensuring alignment is reached on the project scope and requirements outlined in the ERP business case.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform business analysis to ensure end-to-end execution of ERP system implementation plan. Business analysis comprises of general ledger mapping, chart of accounts mapping, finance operational processes, system integration, data interface and financial/ management reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the bank to deliver the ERP system implementation plan.
  • Responsible for shaping the project roadmap and ensure execution of the roadmap.
  • Bridge the gap between technical needs and the requirements of users including provision of detailed business requirements for implementation of the ERP system.
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of each business requirement outlined in the business case.
  • Develop an overall project plan and implementation schedule through consultations with the senior management, project lead, users, technology team and external consultants.
  • Ensure that project plan is tracked and followed through, covering all the business requirements outlined in the business case.
  • Ensure 100% data transfer from the current system to the new system supports all interfaces to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Interact with ERP users to develop use case, design specification and prepare the test case scenarios.
  • Perform user acceptance tests and ensure that all issues identified during the test sessions are addressed before the system is implemented.
  • Ability to identify problems and requirements of ERP project implementation.
  • Timely escalation of problems and issues to avoid delays in project.
  • Analyse operational procedures to develop business process solutions towards optimizing ERP system functionalities.
  • Identify business areas that can be improved to increase efficiency and strengthen business processes, leveraging on the new system capabilities.
  • Recommend and draft policies and procedures changes as required because of new system implementation.
  • Assist users in all aspects of ERP system use.

Skills & Requirements:

  • 8+ years’ experience in finance / accounts functions preferably in an international financial services organization
  • Public practice experience preferably with a big 4 auditing firm
  • Experience working in international financial services organization managing finance and system project implementations. ERP experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of finance, commercial and accounting concepts, processes, and procedures.
  • Chartered Accountant with superior accounting skills and experience preferred.
  • Highly computer literate with a comprehensive knowledge of commercial business drivers.
  • Job holder needs regular contacts within all units in Finance and other departments outside Finance particularly IT, end users of ERP system and external implementation partner.
  • Continuously required to provide information and reports to the CFO, Head of Financial Control and Head of Finance, Financial Reporting to take appropriate decisions.
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, adept at building working relationships across varied businesses and stakeholder groups.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, negotiation, persuasion, and problem-solving skills.
