Mechanics play a crucial role in ensuring the reliable operation of mechanical equipment within the plant by performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks.
Responsibilities
Maintenance and Repair: Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment used in the plant, including but not limited to pumps, motors, blowers, compressors, conveyors, valves, and other mechanical components. Follow manufacturer recommendations and established schedules to conduct regular inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and parts replacement.
Alignment and Calibration: Ensure that shafts, belts, gears, and other mechanical components are properly aligned and calibrated to maintain precise operational parameters. Use precision tools and instruments to verify alignments and make necessary adjustments as per technical specifications.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others. Comply with regulatory requirements and company policies related to equipment maintenance and repair activities.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, parts replacement, and adjustments. Report findings, equipment status, and operational issues to supervisors or maintenance managers in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Mechanic in an industrial or plant environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and equipment used in manufacturing or processing operations.
Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for maintenance and repair tasks.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose mechanical issues effectively.
Attention to detail and precision in performing alignment, calibration, and adjustment tasks.
Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and convey technical information.
Physical strength and stamina to perform tasks requiring manual labor and work in varying conditions.
