Job Purpose: The Data Center Facilities BMS/DCIM Operator is responsible for supervising and controlling the operation of the building management system (BMS) & Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) System, monitoring all Electrical, ELV, and fire/life safety equipment, and HVAC plant activities to ensure that the Data Center building services operate at peak efficiency. This includes maintaining and monitoring temperature levels in equipment and troubleshooting DCIM alarms. The Operator serves as an expert technical resource, reporting and interacting with onsite Engineers and third-party vendors. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain Building Management System (BMS) for proper function and monitor the DCIM against approved benchmarks, including HVAC, Lighting, Fire Suppression, Generator, Plumbing, and Electrical.
Carry out routine checks for the correct operation of all control equipment as directed by the Facility Engineer.
Monitor the operation of the HVAC control systems using the BMS/DCIM to ensure performance.
Adjust variables and provide adjustments as required to ensure systems operate correctly within parameters.
Monitor and record values of HVAC systems to build a database for energy efficiency improvement.
Communicate all maintenance and repair actions in writing to management as required.
Follow protocols for unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
Monitor and verify operation of all BMS/DCIM field devices.
Adjust BMS settings and parameters to meet changing conditions (Load, Environmental, Customer needs, etc.).
Record maintenance data and generate reports as needed.
Maintain job card documentation for all alarms or changes to systems and/or equipment.
Monitor fire detection alarm systems, such as smoke detectors, heat detectors, sprinklers, and emergency exits, in coordination with Safety Function.
Monitor water tank supply level alarms, air handling units, and fresh air handling units.
Monitor and control fire pump systems, motors, sewage pumps, electrical systems, and water systems in the Data Center building.
Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Facility Engineer.
Daily check the health of all facilities equipment and keep daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
Create job cards in CAFM (FSI) Mobile App as per site requirements and close job cards assigned by the Engineer.
Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency calls.
Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, electrical systems, ELV systems, fire/life safety, and other systems.
Comply with all safety procedures and requirements.
Support any after-hours building needs and activities as required.
Attend training sessions and seminars.
Perform other assigned tasks as requested.
Skills Required:
Working knowledge of Electrical & ELV systems, including secondary distribution and HVAC system interior systems.
Ability to read CAD drawings, single-line diagrams, and rough shop drawings.
Strong knowledge in multiple skilled trades (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
Ability to analyze the operation of various infrastructure systems, determine the cause of problems/malfunctions, and take corrective actions as required.
Trained and experienced in BMS/DCIM operation.
Vigilant with attention to detail.
Excellent computer operation skills.
Ability to deal with emergency situations calmly, demonstrating integrity, commitment, and courtesy.
Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
Personal Skills:

Qualifications:
2-3 years BMS/DCIM Operator experience in Data Center Maintenance/Operations.
5+ years total experience in BMS/DCIM.
Other Requirements:
DC certifications will be an added advantage.
Experience in Microsoft Applications (Office, Excel, Word, Outlook).
