Job Title : Spanish and English Language Teacher (Secondary)
Position Overview :
As a Spanish and English Language Teacher at The Spanish School of Abu Dhabi, you will create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment for secondary students. You will play a crucial role in fostering their linguistic, social, and emotional development within our multicultural setting. We seek educators who can implement a student-centered learning approach, maintain high academic standards, and utilize creative teaching methodologies. This role requires proficiency and certification to teach both Spanish and English.
Responsibilities :
Inclusive classroom environment: create a welcoming classroom that promotes a sense of belonging for students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Curriculum development: develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the Spanish curriculum, tailored to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and language proficiency.
Interactive teaching: foster a love for learning by incorporating creative and active teaching methodologies to make lessons interactive, hands-on, and enjoyable.
Clear learning objectives: establish and communicate clear learning objectives to students, ensuring they understand academic and behavioral expectations.
Individualized support: provide individualized attention and support to students, adapting teaching strategies to accommodate their unique strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles.
Technology integration: utilize technology and instructional resources to enhance the learning experience and promote digital literacy among students.
Student assessment: assess and evaluate student progress regularly through various formative and summative assessment methods, providing timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.
Collaborative projects: collaborate with other teachers to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities that integrate different subjects and promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
Community involvement: encourage student participation in community service initiatives, cultural events, and extracurricular activities to foster social responsibility and global awareness.
Parental communication: maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on their child's academic progress and addressing any concerns.
Classroom management: establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment, implementing effective behavior management strategies and promoting positive discipline practices.
Professional development: stay updated with educational research, best practices, and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Working hours :
Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Early bird program and afternoon dismissal will be on a rotating schedule.
School holidays follow the calendar approved by ADEK.
Requirements
Educational requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Spanish philology or Spanish language and literature.
A degree in Spanish philology, Spanish language and literature, or a related field is required.
Master's in teacher training for secondary education.
Teaching certification/license: Official teaching certification or equivalent qualifications recognized by the relevant educational authorities in Spain.
Experience and skills :
Proven experience teaching secondary students, preferably in a multicultural or international setting.
Native speaker of Spanish. Proficiency in English is essential.
Knowledge of the Spanish curriculum and familiarity with innovative teaching methodologies and active learning strategies.
Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace the multicultural setting of the school.
