ACCOUNT MANAGER

JOB PURPOSE

As a bi-lingual Account Manager, you will take on a consultative role for our key client, working directly from their offices in a seconded capacity. You will lead the implementation of communication strategies and manage daily activities under the guidance of the agency team, ensuring that we meet and exceed expectations. You will demonstrate strong management skills and foster excellent client and team relationships and set a positive example for junior colleagues.

CLIENT

  • Own the assigned client relationship, ensuring proactive and upward communication about activity on the account, consistently adding value.
  • Understand your client’s world, their industry, their organisation, their position, needs, fears, ambitions, goals thereby ensuring that our advice and recommendations are informed and relevant.
  • Lead on the preparation for client meetings, drive the agenda and ensure all materials are distributed at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Become an integral part of the account planning process, contributing to the development and implementation of client projects, writing project proposals for clients, contributing ideas and projects that we can sell to existing clients.
  • Attend and participate in internal creative brainstorms across all agency sectors and apply creative thinking to all aspects of work.
  • Create compelling content ideas that resonate with clients, driven by a passion for storytelling.
  • Strong and convincing presentation skills.
  • Go beyond basic reporting to provide strategic insights and recommendations based on data analysis. Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to inform client strategies.
  • Project Management & Client Communication: Oversee multiple client projects, ensuring timely and high-quality data insights. Clearly communicate complex data to clients.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver integrated communications campaigns.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that we deliver on time and on budget.
  • Demonstrate the ability to partner with intelligence analysts and strategists within your practice to push beyond basic reporting and provide strategic insights and recommendations based on data analysis. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to integrate data insights into broader campaigns and initiatives.

COMMERCIAL

  • Play an active role in new business, from identifying leads to helping to develop proposals and attending new business pitch meetings.
  • Manage client budgets, revenue forecasting, invoicing, estimations, while actively engaging in provided training to ensure consistent understanding and application of these responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial understanding to make sound judgements and solve client problems.
  • Be aware of Burson’s offers and services and Global network and have the ability to articulate Burson offers and sell them to existing and/or prospective clients.
  • Actively grow your professional network, aiming to introduce new contacts to the agency, with the goal of identifying potential new business leads.
  • Ensure completion of timesheets weekly for both you and your team.

  • Stay informed on AI training; explores AI applications in their role while adhering to WPP guidelines and best practices.
  • Focus on developing complementary skills such as creativity, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence alongside AI proficiency.
