Scope of Position

The Bartender will offer and prepare an outstanding selection of creative beverages. They will support the servers in any other required duties and tasks under the guidance of the respective managers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

  1. Have a good understanding of the outlet's concept and food and beverage offerings and be able to verbally explain those to the guests.
  2. Knowledge of mixing and matching ingredients to offer an outstanding selection of creative cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks, spirits, beers, and wines, and be able to garnish all drinks as per the given standards and explain their characteristics.
  3. If necessary, be able to personally interact and recommend suitable drinks for guests.
  4. Handle effectively any kind of customer complaints, whether verbal or written, and report to managers without fail.
  5. Set up the daily bar counter and ensure that mise en place and any other required ingredients and equipment are prepared in order to work as efficiently as possible.
  6. Assure that all beverages, such as wines or juices, are fresh and in good order to be served.
  7. Assist the Bar Manager/Head Bartender to create new mixed drinks and cocktails for promotional activity and new menus.
  8. Be well trained in offering and serving cigars as per standards.
  9. Check the inventory daily before each shift to assure correct amounts are stocked up to avoid running out of stock during service periods.
  10. Assist in carrying out monthly inventories.
  11. Responsible for checking the temperature of the bar fridges and following the First in, First Out standards.
  12. Assure that correct date labeling is always in place for all related products.
  13. Clean and sanitize the bar areas after each shift and when required.
  14. Carry out periodic deep cleaning of all related bar areas including storage facilities and fridges.
  15. Operate the required steps on the point of sales system in order to process food and beverage orders.
  16. If requested, be able to carry out cashiering and daily cash and credit collections.
  17. The Bartender will support the server in serving food and beverage, cleaning tables, chairs, and work area to maintain a sanitary environment.
  18. Any other reasonable tasks as assigned by the outlet manager including assisting other outlets.
  19. Ensure customer satisfaction from arrival to departure in accordance to the MOHG Legendary Quality Experiences (LQEs).
  20. Have a natural, warm smile and a friendly and passionate approach towards guests.
  21. Create WOW moments to surprise and delight guests in the Restaurants through gestures and other actions.
  22. Report guests’ preferences to superiors and act upon them whenever known.

Skills & Qualifications

  1. High School qualification or equivalent is preferred.
  2. Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality/Hotel/Business Management is preferred.
  3. 3 years experience as Bartender in a high-end bar with the highest levels of service is preferred.
  4. Minimum 2 years experience working as bartender in a luxury hotel/resort.
  5. Basic computer skills including MS Office is preferred.
  6. Verbal and written communication skills in English.
  7. Verbal and written communication skills in Arabic or other languages are preferred.
  8. Knowledge of Bar service procedures and standards as well as good knowledge of spirits and cigars.
  9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
  10. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  11. Physical capabilities to stand for a long period; Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as per business needs.
