1. Warmly welcoming every guest and establishing a professional connection by respectfully interacting with them and understanding their needs.
2. Check identification of the guest to make sure they meet age requirements for purchase of alcohol and tobacco products.
3. Mix drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages as ordered and in compliance with hotel standard drink recipes.
4. Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages.
5. Service Wine and Beer to guests.
6. Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays.
7. Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
8. Ability to sell or influence others for upselling and suggestive selling.
9. Provide recommendations and suggestions to guests for choosing drinks and snacks.
10. Serve customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
11. Keep the bar counter and work area neat and clean at all times.
12. Provide guidance to guests on resort activities, dining options and general resort and regional information.
13. Determine when a customer has had too much alcohol and if required, refuse any further serving in a polite way.
14. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus, and promotions.
15. Ensure the bar always remains clean and tidy during and after service.
16. Clear ashtrays as and when required.
17. Wash glassware and utensils after each use.
18. Maintain a clean working area by sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning of glass doors and windows, etc. if required.
19. Perform physical activities such as lifting and stooping.
20. Maintain liquor and tobacco inventories and consumption.
21. Collect payment for drinks served and balance all receipts.
22. Handle an assigned house bank and follow all cash handling procedures as per hotel standard.
23. Prepare inventory or purchase requisitions as needed to replenish supplies.
24. Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests.
25. Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
26. Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
27. Perform other duties as assigned by the hotel management.
28. Must be able to communicate in English, both writing and speaking; other languages are an advantage. Good personality and positive interpersonal skills required.
